About
Duneside Stud was one of the founding members of the Namibian Warmblood Breeders Society.
Foundation broodmares were acquired from the famous Voigtland Stud in 1974. Dam lines were built by mares from Graveur (Grande) and Anschluss. These were subsequently bred to the proven performance lines of Attache, Menotti, Pepino, Consuelo, Good Morning Africa (Wendesi), and Tanzpartner. Thoroughbred stallions were used for refining, as is Arabian blood – in keeping with Hannovarian tradition.
In this present day, artificial insemination enables us to combine the established Namibian Warmblood breeding with some of the best sports bloodlines in the World. Including, but not limited to, the modern sports stallions; Diacontinus, Diamant de Quidam, Furst Nymphenburg, Sandro Hit and many more.
We are constantly striving to source the very best breeding combinations to ensure the future success of our progeny.
Purebred Arabians have also long been a passion and the stud hosts the homebred stallion Duneside Mission, who continues to stamp his offspring with elegance and ability. Arabian and Anglo Arabian blood is also used to add lightness and athleticism to the Warmblood breed.
Duneside Stud today is in the capable hands of Keith Keating and Yolanda Meyer who continue with the same passion for horses. Spotting a beautiful colt standing on the neighboring farm, they stopped to have a look. They were approached by this colt and it was ‘love at first sight’. Consequently, they acquired the colt and stud from their predecessor, Mr. Fonk Genis.
New stables and a premier Equestrian Centre were built to house the stud. This centre also hosts international competitions and events.
The stud vision remains, to breed quality, rideable performance horses. To this end, the breeding programme has been extended to include artificial insemination using select Warmblood and Arabian sires from around the world.

Duneside Mission is an Arabian stallion by Eks Maranello (sire) out of Kairo-Star Muzri (dam). He is not only recognized by the Arabian breed societies, but is also licensed as a stallion by the Namibian Warmblood Breeders Society.
Dr. Axel Brockmann (Hannovarian Judge from Germany) mentioned his exceptional jumping ability, clearing 1.40m oxers whilst himself measuring 153 cm. He thus scored an 8.5 out of 10 for his jumping attitude and technique.
He has competed succesfully in Endurance Sport, up to FEI 2* level.
